During the milling season, approximately 1,200 cane trucks enter the Sugar Factory (PG) of PT Rejoso Manis Indo (RMI) every day. The farmer's trucks come round the clock, 24 hours a day, according to the factory operating hours 24 hours a day. Thus, on average there are 50 trucks per hour or 1 truck per minute.

Sometimes traffic jams are unavoidable. Not only because of the large number of trucks that come together at certain hours (usually afternoon and evening), but also because of trucks breaking down on the road, for example because their axles are broken or their tires are broken.

But such an incident is not a big problem because PT RMI has anticipated it. Heavy equipment in the form of a loader is always on standby, so that at any time it can be immediately sent to the location to shift a broken truck to the side of the road.

Trucks that break down are sometimes pulled over by the cooperative team (partners of PT RMI) who are on standby on the road. They use simple tools, such as ropes connected to other trucks. If that is not possible, then they ask RMI to send the loader to the location.

In the past, the large number of sugarcane trucks had caused traffic jams for tens of kilometers. Since 2022, overall, things are much better. Congestion no longer occurs as several flow management improvements have been made.

First, the parking lot. Until 2021, PG RMI does not have a parking space for trucks waiting in line to enter the factory. By 2022, the land will be available in two locations in Brongkos.

Second, the number of truck traffic controllers to and from the factory is currently higher. Previously only 28 people, now 69 people. They work 24 hours in shifts.

Third, the truck flow controllers were distributed in several locations with a well-arranged coordination pattern. Some are at the factory site, some are on the road. They communicate with each other to ensure that there is no accumulation of vehicles at one point. If the factory parking area is loose, trucks can go straight in. If the factory area is full, the trucks that come are conditioned to park at Brongkos first.

Fourth, PG RMI has a number of checkpoints scattered in strategic places. The officers at these posts serve the registration of sugarcane trucks that will enter the factory. They record the registration data with a tablet that is connected via the internet to the factory server so that the number of trucks that are about to enter the factory can be monitored in real time.
