Signing of PT RMI Sugar Factory Security Cooperation as Obvitnas

Today, Thursday (July 28, 2022), the signing of the Security Cooperation between PT Rejoso Manis Indo (RMI) and the Blitar Resort Police for the sugar factory owned by PT RMI. The collaboration is a follow-up to the government's decision through the Ministry of Industry which has established a sugar factory owned by PT RMI which is located in Rejoso Village, Binangun District, Blitar Regency, East Java as a National Vital National Object (Obvitnas) for Industry.

With the signing of this cooperation, we hope that the security obligations can take place properly so that sugar production operations at PT RMI can run smoothly. In the end, the smooth operation of PT RMI's factory is also expected to increase our contribution to the Government's efforts to achieve the sugar self-sufficiency target. With a currently installed production capacity of 10,000 tons of sugar cane per day (tons of cane dayi), PT RMI can make a significant contribution to national sugar production if this capacity can be fully met.

The establishment of PT RMI's sugar factory as Obvitnas itself has added to our confidence to continue to increase sugar production which by law has also been designated as a staple goods and essential goods whose production increase must be encouraged by the Government, including the Regional Government. Optimizing the productivity of PT RMI's sugar factory will restore Blitar's success as one of the important national sugar granaries as has been achieved in the past.

We hope that the presence of RMI in Blitar is accepted and becomes part of the identity of Blitar that should be proud of. Currently, more than 70 percent of PT RMI's sugar factory workers are residents of the Regency and City of Blitar. Moreover, the presence and operation of PT RMI's sugar factory has also provided a multiplier effect economically for Blitar and its people, directly or indirectly.

Let us all RMI stakeholders maintain and increase these assets for our mutual progress and contribute to realizing sugar self-sufficiency as a program that has been launched by the Government.
